Membership

We are on a mission to scale new heights in Trace Element Research.

The International Society for Trace Element Research in Humans is a non-profit corporation which was founded in 1984 by Dr. Prasad, Dr. Abdulla, Dr. Brewer, Dr. Fell, Dr. Parr, and Dr. Solomons.

The primary purpose of the society is to disseminate knowledge in the field of Trace Element Research in Humans. More than 30 years later, our members include scientists, physicians, and other health professionals from around the globe.

Encourage

We encourage and promote increased scientific and clinical research on the causes, alleviation of suffering, and cure of Trace Element Disorders.

Accumulate

We accumulate information about Trace Elements, and promote its dissemination to scientists, physicians and other concerned parties.

Educate

We work hard to educate the general public and medical professionals about the existence, diagnosis and treatment of Trace Element Disorders.

Am I eligible to join ISTERH?

Members of ISTERH are persons who share the stated purpose of ISTERH and who have provided evidence for the scientific merit and interest in Trace Element research by having published at least one relevant scientific paper in a refereed journal. Individuals who are not eligible for election as members may apply for Associate membership. Associate members may submit abstracts for presentation under the sponsorship of members and may not vote.

Where is the 2024 ISTERH Conference being held?

The 2024 ISTERH-15 conference will be held in Murcia, Spain. More information will be available soon.

How is the venue of the ISTERH meeting decided?

The officers of ISTERH determine the next meeting site based on geographical concentrations of members, proximity to last meeting site, facility costs and accommodations, general accessibility, and travel facilities and costs.
